For three days over Easter the skies over Wanaka will become centre stage for an extravaganza of aerial action that will delight both aviation buffs, families and those wanting a superb days entertainment. At Warbirds over Wanaka you are so close to the continuous action you feel like you are in the drivers seat. TOUR DE WAKATIPU – EASTER WEEKEND 3RD APRIL 2010

Whether you are more the recreational cyclist with 36km or Elite sportsperson on the 45km course this is another fantastic way to see the Queenstown Lakes Area. New World is sponsoring the second Tour de Wakatipu starting in the Millbrook area competitors will descend via the newly gazetted Wakatipu Trails Trust track, and follow to cross Speargrass Flat Rd and ascend Slope Hill Road. Continue on Slope Hill Road to descend via lower Shotover Rd and Domain Rd onto the scenic single track that follows the true left bank of the Shotover River.
 
Across the restored Shotover Bridge and follow gravel road and 4*4 tracks to the Shotover delta before joining the Kawarau river track and then across the Kawarau River Bridge
 
One kilometer of highway riding will have the riders approach the scenic and private Kawarau River Road down the true right bank. A gently undulating ride will bring riders to the finish line at the Chard farm winery with bbq and band.

ARROWTOWN AUTUMN FESTIVAL – FRIDAY 16TH – SUNDAY 25TH APRIL 2010

Each autumn Arrowtown's trees put on a show of spectacular colour. The festival parade is the highlight of the Arrowtown Autumn Festival for many with the main parade is on Saturday 17th April. See the local folk dressed in Heritage attire and visit the stalls available.
