Experience 1 - Lovely and Relaxing
by Clayton
We didn't want to stay in the downtown area of Queenstown. We wanted to be close but in a quiet area. The Arrowfield Apartments in Arrowtown was the perfect choice for us. We had a 1 bedroom apartment that was very modern and comfortable. We even had our own garage attached to the apartment. We could have stayed for a long time. It is a newer area with lovely private homes on the same Circle that the apartments are on. We could watch the hot air baloons and see the beautiful Remarkable Mountain Range just outside our windows. It was nice to go for walks in the area. We had a clubhouse across the street with an indoor, heated pool as well as a good workout room just for the Guests and Residents of Arrowfield Apartments and the private homes.
The location was just a stone's throw away from the famous Millbrook Golf Club where we enjoyed having tea and goodies in the afternoon.
The Town of Arrowtown was one of our favorite locations during our 5 week vacation to many, many parts of NZ.
The Property Manager, Lindsey and his Assistant Julie were very friendly and more than happy to assist with anything that you might need or want to know about the area.
I highly endorse Arrowtown and Arrowfield Apartments!
Experience 2 - Absolute Gem - Loved it - Great service and Quality
by Nick Sambrook
Have just returned from a fantastic holiday mainly thanks to the superb accomodation we stayed in. I have stayed in quite a lot of 5* accomodation in NZ over the last 4 years (incl Queenstown) and this has been the best. The views are excellent, the location is great for getting around (especially the ski resorts). It is very quiet and well presented.
Very very impressed with the management of the place Nick and Justine were very welcoming, helpful and informative (even helped sort out the problems we had with the hire car). Made us feel very welcome.
The villas (20 or so) are very well presented and very clean (semi detached three bedrooms that can be used as 1, 2 or 3 bedroom villas). Come with large screen TV, fireplace, and well fitted kitchens and good standard furnature, also have a single auto garage which is great for keeping the frost etc off the car. Also useful free indoor pool and gym.
I would stay in Arrowtown again rather than Queenstown due to its location (only 20 mins away from Quenstown but better located for getting around).
Liked — Quality and clenliness
Disliked — Having to Leave
When comming to the Queenstown area again I wouldn't stay anywhere else.
Experience 3 - Great Full Feature Stay in Arrowtown
by wuhsinman
I stayed at the Arrowfield for three nights in early December. I was traveling through the South Island looking for mountain biking opportunities and wanted to go to Queenstown and check out the area. I typically look for something that has some type of kitchen so that i can cook my own meals (even if it is heating soup on the stove). Arrowfield came up on Google Earth and got good ratings on tripadvisor so i made a reservation through booking.com. (Same day internet booking worked very well on this trip).
The first thing about the Arrowfield is that it is not in Queenstown, but in Arrowtown, about 25 minutes away (when they are not resealing the road; add 10 minutes right now). That can be good or bad depending on your attitude; for me it was fine. The apartments are in a very quiet new residential neighborhood that takes a bit to find.
This was by far the best place that i stayed during my entire trip. The apartments themselves are very new and very modern, with full kitchen facilities, full Sky TV (not the 10 channels you usually get in motels) on a 40 inch flat screen, and the topper for me; free wireless internet; uploading pictures takes lots of time and almost every place i stayed in this trip charged for it.
There is a dedicated garage and washer/ dryer, which was another big plus for me traveling with a bike and wanting to keep riding clothes cleaned up.
The bed was very comfortable and the amenities were top notch; the Natural Earth Moisturiser helped sooth the itch of the Sand Fly bites all over my legs from riding in the bush.
Brent and Leane were gracious hosts and were willing to help with whatever i needed (i'm pretty self sufficient).
Considering the roominess and the amenities it was very much worth the money and the drive to Queenstown.

“Recently we had a Managers Meeting at Arrowfield, which included two night’s accommodation and a full days meeting for approximately 25 attendees. We found the facility to be first class in all respects, with the Arrowfield Management and staff providing an excellent venue for the conference, and the food and other refreshments provided throughout the day were of a very professional standard. The ability to accommodate everyone on site along with providing the conference facilities in a very relaxed and private environment was a big plus for us”.
Experience 5 - Home away from home
by Junodee
We stayed at the Arrowfield Apts in July 208 and in July 2006. And you can be sure that once the American stock markets stabilize and we actually feel like we have some savings, we will start figuring out how to return for a third visit! The apartments are modern, clean, cosy (with lovely heated floors in the bathrooms) and the views are terrific--you can watch the clouds gather over the Remarkables and see hot air balloons pass by overhead. There is room to spread out and relax or you can cuddle up on the sofa, watch the flat screen tv and enjoy some down-time before heading out to all of the exciting options available in nearby Queenstown. I walked everyday to nearby Arrowtown (about a 2 mile walk) and enjoyed the scenery from every direction. We have twice visited NZ and each time, we have stayed at the Arrowfield for a couple of extra days to catch our breath and enjoy being part of a small community for a while. The people who run the Arrowfield are very pleasant and able to help with whatever questions you might have. The pool and gym provide indoor exercise when you don't want to venture outside. And the mountains are so beautiful. We will return someday.
